The Youth Development Foundation, Inc. (YDF) is a non-profit tax-exempt organization dedicated to awarding scholarships to young women of color from around the world. YDF recognizes the critical importance of providing scholarships to young women, as it helps alleviate financial burdens, fosters academic excellence, and cultivates future leaders across various fields.
Our scholarship program is tailored to support young women aged 15 to 18 as they pursue their college education. We welcome applicants from all ethnic groups, with a strong emphasis on promoting diversity and intercultural awareness. Through our scholarship program, we aim to not only assist with the financial aspect of education but also to nurture and develop leadership skills, while fostering self-esteem and self-confidence in our recipients. Scholarship Requirements

Applicant must be female and graduating from high school.

Applicant must demonstrate good school attendance, maintain passing grades, and exhibit good character. As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit their last report card or transcript, which serves as evidence of their academic performance and behavior.

Applicant grant permission for their photographic likeness and voice to be used by YDF, free of charge, in connection with the scholarship program. This policy ensures that YDF can effectively promote its scholarship program and highlight the achievements of its recipients while respecting their privacy and rights.

Applicant hereby releases YDF from any and all claims for damages or injuries that may be sustained. This release applies to all activities, events, or programs organized or sponsored by YDF.

Applicant named as Scholarship Recipient agrees to enter an accredited college of their choice the first semester after graduation from high school and will maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher. Failure to meet this GPA requirement will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

Scholars must complete and submit application online by 11:59 PM on April 30th, .

Applicant must provide an official graduation photo in a cap and gown by July 31st, for display on the YDF website.

Upon completing their first semester in college, applicant is required to submit an official transcript to the YDF by February 15th.
The Scholarship Recipient will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Youth Development Foundation, Inc. upon successfully completing their first semester in college with a GPA of 3.0 or better. This scholarship serves as an incentive for academic achievement and acknowledges the recipient’s commitment to their education.
