Carver Federal Savings Bank and The Bullion Foundation Present Photos by Debi Jackson

Come out and join us at Carver Federal Savings Bank for a Black History Month showing of Photos by Debi Jackson ~ My Feet Travel. The photos will transport you to Thailand, France, Italy, Panama and of course New York. You will be inspired to travel as Debi takes you to Havana and you feel the effervescent essence of Cuba through the lens of her camera.

Jackson, a New York City native who was born in Harlem Hospital, made a name on radio station 107.5 WBLS for over 30 years as Debi B alongside her husband Hal Jackson, a legendary broadcast pioneer. They co-hosted the WBLS Sunday Classics, which was consistently rated as a top five program in New York City and had the largest listening audience in the history of radio.

All proceeds from the sale of her photography are donated to the Youth Development Foundation, Inc. (YDF) of which she is the President. For 50 years YDF has awarded over $2,000,000 in scholarships and prizes to young women from around the world through YDF and the Hal Jackson’s Talented Teens International scholarship program (HJTTI). Some of the young ladies that have come through the ranks of HJTTI and YDF include Jada Pinkett Smith, Meli’sa Morgan, Michelle Thomas, Tarij P. Henson, Alyson Williams and the honorable Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook just to name a few.

Debi states, “Every moment in life is a present. My photography captures life’s moments so they can exist for an eternity. I am passionate about people and nature, constantly trying to pull my visions together in a photograph exhibiting purity and symmetry. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel extensively and meet celebrities due to my late husband, Hal Jackson. My inspiration and learning comes from world-renowned photographers and I am blessed to be in the right place at the right time to capture award-winning images.”

Carver Federal Savings Bank is located at 75 West 125 Street and the photos will be on display from February 1 – 29, 2020 during banking hours.
